It’s icky & rainy in Mattoon so David and I have been camped out in the hotel. We chose Super 8 again because a) it’s cheap, b) they have pastries and fruit for breakfast, c) it’s cheap, and d) they have free WIFI. A bonus is they also have a computer - with printer - for everyone to use, also for free.

This came in very handy this afternoon. I booked a car with Enterprise late last night using AmEx Rewards. It was last minute because we were hoping to get sponsors. That didn’t happen, but fortunately I’ve got a boatload of points (which we’ve also been using for the hotel stays, so thanks AmEx). Unfortunately I needed to have a printed certificate to use it for the rental car. Enterprise’s Debbie bent over backwards trying to get one printed for us but they don’t have Internet access, so she put it on my credit card and let me know I’d have to bring a printed certificate in tomorrow so I wouldn’t be charged. Fricka fracka…

Imagine my glee when I walked into the Super 8 and saw their Business Center, which was a computer - with printer - in the lobby. I said “YES!” Later, when I was actually printing the certificate, a man came in, looked over at the setup, and said “does that have USB ports?” I said yes. He said “YES!”

So thank you, Mattoon Super 8. You’ve made at least two people very, VERY happy. Will I stay at a Super 8 again?
