I may fully feel it tomorrow…

Sitting in our hotel room in Champaign, IL, Theresa and I are going through photos, videos and notes throughout Day One of Writing The Rails.  As I Tweeted earlier, Theresa leans over to me while we’re aboard the Amtrak and says, “you’re now officially on tour.”  With all of the details and work that was put into making Writing The Rails a reality, I really haven’t had the time to feel the excitement and to enjoy the fruits of the hard labor that the Writing The Rails team has put forth.  I can honestly say, I’m starting to feel the joy as a result from all of the team’s hard work.  But, it may not be until tomorrow until I fully feel it.  (shrug)  For those who know me, what else is new?  :O  ;)

Maui Wowi was a GREAT kick-off!  A LOT of Chicago friends came out to support the cause!  Miriam Brosseau of Stereo Sinai performed a couple of her original tunes.  Great times and a great vibe/party to kick off the Inaugural Writing The Rails tour.

Aroma Cafe had a great vibe.  However, as one may piece together from Theresa’s last post, the atmosphere was severely subdued in comparison to Maui Wowi since most (if not, all the peeps) were studying.  Regardless, toes were tapping, the show was well-received, good times seemed to be had.

All in all, WTR collected $100 more towards St. Jude’s.  With the $110 that was “in the bank” from the KAVUS show and from the Trader Todd’s gig on Black Friday, I’d say we’re in great shape with $210.  More to come!
