We’re putting together a sponsorship package and you’ll see the cool ways we’re going to say thank you if you help get Writing The Rails: Memphis on the tracks. We’re already talking to possible corporate sponsors and small businesses that are ready to get this tour moving.

Ways to Help

1. Lodging: We’re looking for hotels in each city that will comp rooms or people with guest rooms where David and Theresa can sleep during the tour.

2. Organizing Shows: David has been pounding the virtual pavement and talking to students at the U of I, Eastern and Southern to work on getting gigs set up. The shows don’t have to be on the campuses, so if you are interested in helping organize a show and building a Tweet-up or event around it - please let us know. The #chambana twitter crew has already raised their hand to help out.

3. Meals: Have you always wanted to have a meal with a musician and a writer? This is your chance. It would add a lot to the experience if David and Theresa could have meals with people in each city. They aren’t picky eaters, but they do need sustanance.

4. Other: Have a creative idea about getting involved? We’re all ears.

Charity Involvement

As we said in the first post, we have selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the charity we will support with Writing The Rails: Memphis. Each time that Writing The Rails hits the tracks, we will select a charity of the destination city.

If you want to help out by making a donation to Writing The Rails: Memphis - first we’ll cover operating expenses not paid by major sponsors, but anything above will be included in the check presented to St. Jude.
